Texas and the US

Time for a new Supreme Court Judge. YAY!!! not.. So it seems that Obama wants to pick a female hispanic woman by the name of Sonia Sotomayor.  From the article i have read on TH and from the news, can someone please answer me the question of why does she annoy everyone? I have a few theories. First she said,a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn't lived that life." What life does she mean? A white persons life? Just because a white person isn't a minority doesn't mean they have it better then anyone else. I am a white male, and i have it hard. I have tons of debt from school. My friend who is black has less debt then me, a hispanic guy i know just just the same amount of debt. Thats not because of our culture or our race, it is because of who we are today. 200 years ago, she might have a point about a white person would not understand how it is to live like a hispanic or black person lives. Back then white people had it better, but 2009 is not 1809. That is in the past. Ms. Sotomayor needs to understand that those lines are gone. We have acctually became a mixxing pot and all cultures are together in America.

Govenor Rick Perry said the word..... Texas is its own country. Well technically people who live in Texas already believe we are our own country. I think Perry said this because he understands that the US government is taking to much power and stomping all over the people. He might of backed off because of presure from the Legislature, but I am proud he said it. I would love to see Texas its own country. Texas is mostly a conservative place. Minus those liberals in the cities. I think if Texas did seperate we could show the US and other countires who let liberals run things, and have to much political correctness that the way Texas runs is better for everyone. Esp since one of the first things would be is to put the 10 commandments back at the courthouse in Houston.

Obama

Obama is now the president of the United States. Will this be the end of the free market federalist America that we know, or will it just be changed to work better? At this moment you have conservative talk show hosts saying that Obama wants a socialist market, others say he will simply fix the system to make it stronger. What the future holds no one knows. Despite if you like or dislike Obama everyone can admit he gives a good speech. His inauguration speech was very good. I believe he truly does want to help the country, even if I do not like the way he wants to do it. I believe that the economy would fix itself if the government backed off and let companies control more of itself and not have to change just to fit what the government says. I believe responsible companies want to just fix themselves so they do not fail and have everyone lose their jobs. Also I think it would have been a better idea to take the 750 Billion dollar bailout and divide it equally among all eligible tax payers. Everyone would receive roughly 400,000 dollars after taxes taken out. Any responsible person would pay off credit cards, mortgages and any other bill they had. If they were responsible that is. Giving money to Wall Street didn’t help the people, if you want Wall Street to recover you first help the people. People push the economy; help the people help the economy. Maybe the government will finally understand that one day. Hopefully Obama can at least fix the deficit that the U.S. has.

Black Hole and the Theory of Matter

I posted a blog late last year about scientists finding gamma radiation coming from the face of the planet heading out into the universe. Being chemistry major this started making me think about the universe. I am not an expert on everything, and I am just starting my major so I am just questioning what I do not know. Black holes in space are a huge mystery to everyone. No one knows what exact shape they take, how they work, or why they exist. Nothing can escape its gravitational pull. Light is sucked into the center of this mystery, and any asteroid or anything that gets to close is sucked into the center as well. I heard when I was younger that if something is pulled into a black hole when it reaches the center of the black hole is completely destroyed. Is that true? Can something that lasted billions of years really be completely destroyed from a black hole?

The theory of matter states among other things that matter is neither created nor destroyed. Sense the beginnings of the universe all the matter in the universe was already here. The oxygen, carbon, titanium, uranium everything was here just not formed into a planet or solar system for billions of years. Today we can see all the elements that are known in and on our planet. They were always there just not collected together.

Now back to the black hole. If a black hole is supposed to destroy anything that enters it, how can it destroy matter? The theory of matter clearly states matter can not be destroyed. So either the theory is wrong and it can be destroyed, or the black hole doesn’t destroy matter. Maybe the black hole is a gateway to an alternate universe, or it just sends whatever that enters it to another part of space. Who knows, but it does beg to find out the answer.

New Year

Happy New Years, hope your year is full of fortune and wisdom.

2008 was a terrible year for almost everyone. Thousands of people lost their jobs, the economy is hurting, and terrible things happened in the world. The unemployment rate is at the highest it has been at in what twenty years? The Great Depression was worse by far, but in this day in age, we are not used to having so many jobs lost. The government finally decides we are in a recession, the stock market drops the lowest it has been in twenty or so years. Finally people just seem to get more stupid.

The unemployment rate is outrageous. I understand if a company is doing poorly they need to let go of a few people, but 10,000 people from IBM in a month? Seems kind of high. Atleast their is one place still hiring and needs people. State Agencies that are short staffed. I know for a fact that Texas Department of Criminal Justice needs Correctional Officers all over the state of Texas. I hope if anyone reads this and needs a job, they consider joining their own state correctional department. You get free insurance, plus you are alwayz sure of a job.

The stock market is also in a big rut. Luckily gas prices are down, so I am atleast happy about that. I believe if the government would cut out income tax for atleast three months, let people catch up on bills and everything. Then the people could invest in the stock market and get the economy going again. Income tax does help the government pay for things, but isn't it more important that we get our economy back on track?

Are people really getting more stupid? Caylee Anthony was a three year old girl who had a mother who killed her and tried to make up a fake story about it a month later. Is it just me, or do you not kill your child and then pull out a lame story like she did? If the child was to much responsibility then your an unfit parent who is selfish, and secondly take her to CPS. They will look after the child.

Auto Bail-Out

First off Merry Christmas. Why do people say happy holidays? I grew up with Merry Christmas, and now all of a sudden it is not correct? I have to say Happy Holidays just to make sure no one is offended? I am offended all the time by other races, religions, and countries yet no one tells them they are not being polite. This world is nit-picking everything to death. If i say i will not sleep until there is a decent president in the white house, then i go to sleep that night I become a liar.

Now to the point. The big three auto makers are getting their bail out. Is it just me or does the government not think. If the government had done the smart thing and gave the people the 750 Billion dollar bail out for every tax payer 18 years and older. Everyone would be given an even amount of just over 555,000 dollars, then if the government took 25% it would be 400 thousand a person. We could of gotten ourselves out of the recession, helped the auto industry, the credit crisis, and mortgage crisis. Everything would of been better I believe.

Gamma Rays and Will Smith

This past week, while going through the news yahoo had up at the time. I found a very interesting article. NASA has discovered that the Earth gives off gamma radiation. It is curious to them because the ozone layer protects animals and planets from cosmic gamma radiation, yet the Earth produces it in small bursts and the ozone allows it to leave. I have no problem with trying to figure out how to protect the planet better from radiation and harmful things, but why are they trying to solve the universe? It took the universe billions and billions of eons to form the universe and make everything work the correct way, yet they want to undo all of that just to understand it? Wouldn't it be a better thing just to take the basic structure of something and make it better? I understand that you must see what has changed to know what can happen in the future, but if you solve the mystery of the universe, then what else can we do? How can our civilization go on if we know what to do to make everything the way we want it.

Also on yahoo news tonight was Will Smith telling Barbara Walters he could be the president of the United States. He meant it as a joke, since Obama made it possible for a black American to be president, but I got to thinking. Would it really be that bad if he did become president? He is a nice guy from what you see on the television and from the way he acts around people. He seems to be a good father and husband. He seems to me from what I can tell over the last years I can remember seeing him, he would be a fine president. I would vote for him, just because I honestly believe that he would care about the people. I would need to meet him in person to really see if this is true, but from observations I think he would be good as a leader. You can't trust a politician, and you can't trust most of hollywood either because they are always in trouble or doing something stupid. Will Smith however is almost never in the news unless he is doing a new movie or just out talking to a reporter and doesn't seem to be much of a spot light. I think he would rather do his stuff and just let the world deal with the other people in hollywood. I am voting for Will Smith next time.

Our new President...

Many people on this site, Townhall.com, get the magazine in the mail. I recently read an article in the magazine about a young lady who spent two years with Obama on the campaign trail. After two years she had no idea about who Barak Obama really was. How are we as a country supposed to trust a man to lead us and keep our best interest at mind, when in two years a woman who reported on him had no idea who he was? It seems to me like you can't trust him. I personally wanted FDR back into the white house, but he is sort of dead and couldn't accept the position. I listened to two seperate interviews with Obama and after them I thought I had been talking to a liar. He either contradicts himself or says he was wrong about what he said before, even if he clearly says this is the truth. Also doesn't anyone find it alittle strange that he isn't even the president yet and he is already talking about how to fix the economy? Finally a report came out stating we have been in a recession since last December, does it really take a year before the government and wall street to discover this? Talk to any red blooded american and he can tell ya straight away. Obama is just trying to show that he is thinking of us, the people, now but the moment he becomes president he will just do what he has planned from the beginning. Change a system that isn't broken. When I was a young child i was told, "Don't fix what isn't broken." Did Obama miss that speech or something? I like having the ability to go out to my favorite store buy something and not worry about having to share my money or items with anyone else who doesn't deserve it. I know some of the less fortunate need help and will work, but I work hard for the few things I have.

Also what is wrong about saying the Pledge of Alligance, or taking the Oath of Office on the Bible? I am not a religious man, but when you are about to start leading a country that was built on christian principles then you do what is a right to the people. If he wants to be of another religion fine, that is his freedom. However, in a christian based country you respect the people and the traditions and you take the Oath on the Bible, and you Pledge Alligance to the Flag and you state proudly "ONE NATION UNDER GOD."
