Obama

Obama is now the president of the United States. Will this be the end of the free market federalist America that we know, or will it just be changed to work better? At this moment you have conservative talk show hosts saying that Obama wants a socialist market, others say he will simply fix the system to make it stronger. What the future holds no one knows. Despite if you like or dislike Obama everyone can admit he gives a good speech. His inauguration speech was very good. I believe he truly does want to help the country, even if I do not like the way he wants to do it. I believe that the economy would fix itself if the government backed off and let companies control more of itself and not have to change just to fit what the government says. I believe responsible companies want to just fix themselves so they do not fail and have everyone lose their jobs. Also I think it would have been a better idea to take the 750 Billion dollar bailout and divide it equally among all eligible tax payers. Everyone would receive roughly 400,000 dollars after taxes taken out. Any responsible person would pay off credit cards, mortgages and any other bill they had. If they were responsible that is. Giving money to Wall Street didn’t help the people, if you want Wall Street to recover you first help the people. People push the economy; help the people help the economy. Maybe the government will finally understand that one day. Hopefully Obama can at least fix the deficit that the U.S. has.

Black Hole and the Theory of Matter

I posted a blog late last year about scientists finding gamma radiation coming from the face of the planet heading out into the universe. Being chemistry major this started making me think about the universe. I am not an expert on everything, and I am just starting my major so I am just questioning what I do not know. Black holes in space are a huge mystery to everyone. No one knows what exact shape they take, how they work, or why they exist. Nothing can escape its gravitational pull. Light is sucked into the center of this mystery, and any asteroid or anything that gets to close is sucked into the center as well. I heard when I was younger that if something is pulled into a black hole when it reaches the center of the black hole is completely destroyed. Is that true? Can something that lasted billions of years really be completely destroyed from a black hole?

The theory of matter states among other things that matter is neither created nor destroyed. Sense the beginnings of the universe all the matter in the universe was already here. The oxygen, carbon, titanium, uranium everything was here just not formed into a planet or solar system for billions of years. Today we can see all the elements that are known in and on our planet. They were always there just not collected together.

Now back to the black hole. If a black hole is supposed to destroy anything that enters it, how can it destroy matter? The theory of matter clearly states matter can not be destroyed. So either the theory is wrong and it can be destroyed, or the black hole doesn’t destroy matter. Maybe the black hole is a gateway to an alternate universe, or it just sends whatever that enters it to another part of space. Who knows, but it does beg to find out the answer.

New Year

Happy New Years, hope your year is full of fortune and wisdom.

2008 was a terrible year for almost everyone. Thousands of people lost their jobs, the economy is hurting, and terrible things happened in the world. The unemployment rate is at the highest it has been at in what twenty years? The Great Depression was worse by far, but in this day in age, we are not used to having so many jobs lost. The government finally decides we are in a recession, the stock market drops the lowest it has been in twenty or so years. Finally people just seem to get more stupid.

The unemployment rate is outrageous. I understand if a company is doing poorly they need to let go of a few people, but 10,000 people from IBM in a month? Seems kind of high. Atleast their is one place still hiring and needs people. State Agencies that are short staffed. I know for a fact that Texas Department of Criminal Justice needs Correctional Officers all over the state of Texas. I hope if anyone reads this and needs a job, they consider joining their own state correctional department. You get free insurance, plus you are alwayz sure of a job.

The stock market is also in a big rut. Luckily gas prices are down, so I am atleast happy about that. I believe if the government would cut out income tax for atleast three months, let people catch up on bills and everything. Then the people could invest in the stock market and get the economy going again. Income tax does help the government pay for things, but isn't it more important that we get our economy back on track?

Are people really getting more stupid? Caylee Anthony was a three year old girl who had a mother who killed her and tried to make up a fake story about it a month later. Is it just me, or do you not kill your child and then pull out a lame story like she did? If the child was to much responsibility then your an unfit parent who is selfish, and secondly take her to CPS. They will look after the child.
